It’s August… // Take it easy, and Jomo

Jomo - take your time during vacation

Disconnect! It’s not so easy. I’ve already talked a little about it on Facebook: I’m taking some time off from the blog and social networks throughout the month of August. I thought it was called slow blogging, but in fact, it would be more like “JOMO, Joy of missing out”. American people are good at inventing such acronyms: the joy of missing things. I knew the FOMO (fear of missing out), the reverse basically, the fear of missing something.

The blog is a hobbie I love – it’s my living and interactive photo album of my life in the US, including travels, stupid questions and cultural differences, but it’s also a time-consuming hobby… I enjoy fine-tuning photos and texts, but sometimes it takes hours to post an article. Certainly, it is encouraging to see that there are comments, positive messages, happy people! But in August, I have other ongoing projects, so I will not post anything … There will still be things happening here, because I leave carte blanche to Manu who wants to post his own articles…

In the meantime, if you have not read the 340 articles of the blog, you can start with the very first post, which dates from November 2011. There are also plenty of links to other blogs in my blogroll, if you are not in JOMO mode and are looking for cool stuff to read while you procrastinate at the office.

See you at the end of August, we leave for a new road trip in the United States in just over three weeks!

A bientôt, xoxo
