Mathilde a Frenchie in Boston and travel writer all around the USA

Mathilde Blog-2

Bonjour !

You are on the Blog de Mathilde, and Mathilde, well, it’s me. The blog was created in November 2011, when I was about to get married, get a visa and move to the USA. I quit my job in publishing in Paris, and I didn’t know anybody in Boston: I really wanted to have something to do and writing has always been a way for me to express myself. The bord was born out of necessity (= staying sane in times of big change). This creative outlet slowly became not only an expat blog but also a travel blog, and just a blog in general where  I share what’s on my mind.  It has became a sort of interactive souvenir place, and created a lot of opportunities. I became a travel writer for a French publisher, and created my company of guided tours of Boston in French.

On the blog, you can read: my personnal stories, and also practical recommandations on how to travel in the USA and what to see.

☞ I’m not on my own on the blog, and Manu, my husband, helps me as a technical mastermind and savvy photographer. You can find him, sometimes, on Instagram @hm_u.

I write books: travel books, yoga books, games, I blog, and I manage a company of guided tours of Boston in French, called Boston le nez en l’air.

You can read on the blog the many changes: before leaving in Boston, I quit my job as a publisher in Paris; when I first got to Boston, I was first doing some volunteering for an after-school program, and then I found a job in an American publishing house here in Boston. After a few months, I started a yoga teacher training, and was hired by  Michelin to work on a new edition of their Guide about Boston and New England. I became a free lance writer, and wrote a few other books. I started my company of guided tours of Boston in 2014 and  led tours in my new city : Boston.

  1. Mathilde,

    Vincent

    • Bonjour ! Je ne vais pas vous appeler pour vous aider, to be honest, c’est beaucoup demander.
      Good luck !
