Frankenstorm in Boston

The wind is blowing in Boston. Hurricane Sandy is getting closer. The city is almost shut down, there’s a state emergency. I was asked to work from home today, my yoga class was cancelled, the metro isn’t working. No university for Manu either, schools and colleges are closed. We are quietly at home, at the last floor of our building, so no worries. We watch the trees bending, they still have their fall leaves… There’s no flood, yet. We follow Sandy’s path on a interactive map.

Ten days ago, there was a small earthquake in Maine, and we could feel it in Boston. I was sitting on the sofa, which started moving by itself. First I thougth that squirrels could ake their way into the house and were moving under the sofa (Manu still not believes me though). Well, bizarre feeling I tell you! I thought that Boston wasn’t in a critical zone – except for snow storms, but I’ve never been caught in one of these, yet. I’ve received many emails from France today, so I guess we talked about Sandy in Paris as well. No worries, we are ok (until now) and I keep you posted (if I can).

Edit – 7.30pm: some signs close to our place are broken in Kenmore
